Every time someone posts to a thread, the thread gets "bumped" to the top of its given categories "list". If no one is posting to the thread (such as when there seems to be no interest in a for sale item, or if someone's waiting for an answer to a question), the thread continues to fall down the list. So, by posting to your own thread, you "bump" it back up.

Hey now, we were all forum noobs at one point. However instead of posting a whole new thread, we most likely used our 2nd grade education about using "context clues" to help figure out the meaning of a new word we didn't know.

If the letter A is in front of it, it means something entirely different.
