NEED HELP WITH MY G35x!

So I know the sedan models already dont have that many upgrades but the X has a lot less... I'm trying to find Headers that are powerful and gain a little extra HP. I'm also looking for good lowering springs. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!!

Hey There,

Long Tube Headers may not fit. All other regular headers should fit no problem. As far as springs, all the springs from the 350z or G35 03-07 will fit with no problem. The question is the amount they lower. Take a look into the calling all Xs thread if you need more info on that to find the exact setup you need.

When I look at all the headers though it says they are for the coupe. will they fit on the sedan or try to find ones for the sedan?

They should fit with no issues. Just confirm with multiple sellers just in case. Megan Racing Headers will fit the coupe and sedan no problem.

In all honesty, don't get the Manzo and get a proven setup for performance. The Manzo is a cheap eBay knockoff that you won't gain power on. You would need to look into the inlet and outlet and go bigger than OEM size to see some gains. You would also need HFCs or TestPipes to remove the restrictive cats.

This is the exhaust I have and your saying its not good? Ive had a good time with it nothing bad at all. But what exhaust set up do you think would be a good one? I would do test pipes but the whole emissions testing would be a bitch.

It's okay. Looks like a copy of the TopSpeed Pro1 Exhaust actually which is the one I have now.(I'm not really performance oriented). If you want to maximize gains, I would go with a HFC setup and a exhaust like the Tanabe, Megan Racing is okay, Stillen is pretty good, and a few others as well such as the HKS axleback. There are a few options out there for gains. Black Friday deals are to be had as well. Headers are a pain to install as well but if you wanted a full exhaust, it makes a difference.

There are a few places out there but be mindful as you have an X, you would need to do work to the new engine to make it fix into the X. Although the cost associated with a reman engine is pretty high. You could buy a built shortblock in some cases for the same amount.

Nah, doesn't list mileage or detail the exact condition of the engine. The problem is with installation. You don't want to install an engine to find out its billowing smoke out or low on compression. The X needs a few things swapped between the old and new motor. Not too hard. I mean for 2800+Install, I rather rebuild what you have and save money in the long run.

What are the most popular things to swap out on an engine rebuild?

What makes you think its about to give out at 114k. That isn't much as many DE motors have proven solid in the 200-250k ranges.

I would strongly suggest you forget the headers and look into doing something with the factory cats.
