06 G35x VDC and SLIP lights on solid....
VDC and slip lights came on solid the other day...went to the dealer, and low and behold, the yaw rate control sensor (also known as gravity sensor) has failed. $1600 for the part alone, $1800 bucks total with labor. The cheapest I could find the part is $1300 from Infiniti parts site....but I also found what I presume to be a cheaper part on Ebay...($100 bucks or less)...after I refused the service, and went to go pick my car up, the service guy that I normally work with confirmed "off the record" that I should just go the ebay route, but he couldn't tell me that on the phone with the service manager listening in.
I found a similar thread on this from about 4 years back, talking about just buying this sensor off ebay....however, it was referring seemingly to just RWD sedans and coupes....is it safe to assume this same sensor will work for AWD versions as well? Also, what is the degree of difficulty installing this part? I heard its under the center console, which could be a pain, since I am not super handy (although I am proud of myself the other day for actually putting in a Stillen Z-tube and K&N drop in filter without breaking myself or the car, lol)...my service guy said I could bring the sensor to him and they could install it for $200 bucks roughly...is that worth it?

Page 63 shows it's location. It's right behind the shifter in the automatic, so you'll need to get the column up. But after that it's plug and play.

The FSM seems to show a similar part on 6MT and 5AT. What i'd probably do is call up infiniti and ask for the sensor for both 5AT and 6MT and check part numbers and see if they are different. It looks like the 5AT has an extra bracket, but also looks like it can be exchanged between the two units. That might be the only difference.
Logically I can't see why there would be a difference

I have one that I took off of my 05 manual coupe, it's a pure track car so no need, it works. Hit me up, I'll let it go for super cheap I'm not in need of it. It's a genuine Bosch sensor

Thanks so much, this helps a ton! I may possibly try doing it myself now.
Sounds good! About how much do you think you would let it go for? And is it the AL700 part?
I'll take some pictures tomorrow of the location and the part, just pm me with a price that you think is reasonable and I'll probably accept it, lol
