So previously ive posted a thread asking if anyone replaced their resonator with magnaflow, that didnt get me anywhere.
So i decided to go through with it.
Previously i had a magnaflow rear and coupe middy. my plan was to reduce rasp in higher rpms and drone because i do alot of highway driving and it started getting annoying after a few months.
I got an hr y pipe and a magnaflow muffler in place of the stock resonator.
magnaflow muffler i got from a friend for 50 and hr y pipe i picked up for 80.




i had this put on a few months ago, decided to go for different design and something different.

pipe had to get moved a little so we had clearance and no contact with heat shield

so in the end i ended up paying for labor 175.

Now for the sound, it was deeper, ALOT more pleasant, felt big difference in the down low rpms with torque, im sure thats due to the hr y pipe. Let me know what you guys think.

 

Thanks for sharing, interesting idea to just replace a resonator with a muffler. Which model MF did you get?

I used a MF 14815 muffler on my sedan without touching anything else and was very happy with the result:

Im running the 14816 with a 11246 as a resonator.
