Question About Installing Stillen Intake and Z-Tube Kit

Hey Everyone,

I just purchased the Motodyne Plenum Spacer Kit and the Stillen Intake and Z-Tube Kit. They are on their way. I live outside of the country, and so it will be a week or two til I have them. I am trying to prepare and make sure I have everything so I can have a smooth install.

Someone who had the car before me put on a crappy aftermarket filter that looks like it was bought at autozone. Check out this link so I can tell you what numbers are not on the car:

http://www.nissaninfinitiparts.com/a...ir-intake-scat

I already ordered part 13 cause it was not there. I am beginning to wonder if I may need other parts as well and I want to have them here for when the intake and tube get here. This is what I ordered:

Amazon.com: STILLEN 402834 Hi-Flow Intake Kit With Z-Tube - 03-07 G35 Coupe / 03-06 G35 Sedan / 03-08 FX35: Automotive Amazon.com: STILLEN 402834 Hi-Flow Intake Kit With Z-Tube - 03-07 G35 Coupe / 03-06 G35 Sedan / 03-08 FX35: Automotive

I do have the original couplers and I have the sensor and all of that. I do not have anything in box 1 or 11 from that original diagram in the first link. It looks like the Stillen Intake is definitely without part 9 on that diagram.

So my question is what from that diagram will I need that I might be missing to install this Stilen Intake and Z-Tube? Do I need part 9 in the diagram from the original intake? Do I need any other parts in that diagram? Please let me know so I can order them ASAP and have everything ready.

Thanks

I am adding a photo so you can see just how rigged this crap was and how ugly the set up is in the engine compartment. I am trying to bring it back to life, hence the order I just made. So no mocking how bad it looks... I already know. hahahahahaha I got the car for 3,000 dollars with only 100,000 miles with a clean title. So I think it was worth it. Like I said earlier I already ordered part 13 from the diagram and the clips to install that duct. What else will I need?

Sir! Please clean that engine bay.

As you can see in the screenshot of this youtube video showcasing the intake you bought, stillen intakes use items 13, and 9. I would bet it uses 11 as well.

Thanks Guys. I ordered 9 and 13 the other day and they are on their way. I already had parts 10 and 12. Why would I possibly need part 11? That is a resonator which is to lower the sound right? The idea of the intake and Z-Tube is to make it have more sound. So I would think that you would not want any resonators which is why you are taking that out of part 12 with a Z-Tube.

PS I will clean this once she is done. I just recently got the car and it was not taken care of at all. It also had a minor front end collision which is why I got it so cheap. I had to put in a new radiator, A/C compressor, the entire hood support which the radiator and A/C compressor connect to, still missing the windshield washer fluid reservoir, a new clutch, new master cylinder, new slave cylinder, new windshield, painted the whole car, had any leather interior tears restitched, and had the interior repainted and conditioned. So it's a project up til now. Now I am finishing the engine bay and putting in the plenum spacer and proper intake, z-tube and filter. Almost done and then I can worry about cleaning.
