Interior lights malfunction?

04 Sedan. All my interior lights function perfectly. When the doors are opened the dome lights appear along with the welcome lights. However this only functions on my passenger door and rear doors. If I open my drivers door the lights don't come on. Is there a ground that might be misbehaving? Some insight on some trouble shooting would be wonderful. I know it's petty but the little things count

Does the instrument cluster warn you when that door is open?

I would look at your driver's side door switch which is supposed to connect the (white) wire leading to it to ground. (see pic of the schematic below) Think of how many times that switch has been cycled over the life of your '04! Try pulling it and shorting the wire to the chassis to see if the lights go on. Possible the switch is not making good ground contact or has simply failed. Start there for sure.

You sir are awesome. Thank you! I don't know why I've never noticed that switch. I just pulled it apart and the switch isn't even there! Just a hole. Popped out maybe or removed by the precious owner. Who knows!
Thanks again!

I get almost all my used parts at a junk yard near my house. Super inexpensive and mostly complete cars

The door switches have been known to stick and fail.

My driver's rear door switch is sticky.
