So small problem. As usual canadIan cars are an interesting experience to work on.
I was trying to remove the rear shock for a 350z suspension swap when the bolt snapped
I cut the shock out to make room since it's junk anyway.
Buttt now the bolt is stuck in the bushing and I can't use heat since it'll met the bushing. I tried an impact hammer but it didn't work as well. Any ideas? I need the car running tomorrow
I have tried penetrating oil with no luck. I'm sure I could press the bushing out but I need to keep it intact because I need the car first thing in the morning and my local parts supplier that can get parts the same day is closed on Sundays.
Drive it as is directly to the shop nearest you and pay them to get it out?
Isn't that a shoulder bolt? You should be able to drill the rest of the shoulder off. Start with a small pilot hole and step up bit sizes until a drill bit about the same diameter as the bolt.
