Sorry I Know this has been talked about. Need current info. 350z Tein stech on Sedan.
First and foremost I apologize for creating a thread that I know has been talked about over and over again. I have been google searching for the past 48 hours and all I see is conflicting posts from years and years ago. What might have been the trend in 2011 or 2009 may be different now in 2016 so that is why I am starting this thread.
I just picked up a 2004 sport sedan 6mt. I hate the way it sits. The front is obviously higher than the rear (probably for a level ride) but i hate the look. The sedan Stech specs do not give the car enough of a drop to satisfy me. I am torn between going with Coupe Stechs or 350z Stechs. I see the spring rates for the coupe Stechs are kind of soft in the rears. I don't know how I feel about going softer than my stock sport spring rates.
please any insight will be helpful. I would like to place an order asap. Just trying my best to be diligent.

Normally I'd delete a post like this for a lack of trying to answer the question by the OP but it seems like you did some searching so thanks for that. I can tell you that I ran the 350Z STechs with the coupe shocks/struts and was pleased with the ride and height for a while. That was my 3rd attempt with different suspensions and I hadn't taken the advice that the majority of the members had recommended, just go with coilovers from the start. Needless to say I finally succumbed to that advice going with the Tanabe Pro 5's 6 years ago and I never looked back.
So my advice is if you are looking for a significant drop which you are just get coils from the start and you're set. Nothing beats a set of springs/shocks that were designed to work together from the get go. Add in the adjustability of dampening and ride height and you'll be super happy with your decision. Will that cost more than new springs, yes, but you will need new shocks soon installing new springs because our stock shocks wear out very quickly when aftermarket springs are introduced. So add up the cost of the springs AND new shocks and you'll see you aren't far off from the price of coils.

Well i ended up ordering some 350z s techs. I actually used to own a 2005 sport sedan 6mt as well and put it on the Z stechs. I did love the ride but sold the car 5 months later so I was not able to see how long the struts lasted or tire wear. I have sport suspension which is supposed to take the lowering spring better than non sport struts right? I have owned a lot of cars in the past and most of them were always on coilovers. I do not have a problem spending the money, the problem is i want a really comfortable ride. I dont want to be able to feel a twig when I run over it.

With the high contrast on your pic it's impossible for me to see the gap between the fender and tire so I have no idea what your drop looks like.
Installing 350Z Tein s-techs should close the gap over the tires almost 100%, the 350Z h-techs leave about an inch! Tokico D Spec shocks work great but somewhat over kill when KYBs will also give you a great ride for less $$! Here's a suggestion, any time we lower our G35 coupes or sedans it's a very good idea to also include adjustable a-arms so your tires will last more than 6 to 10K miles! Quality tires aren't cheap!
