Got a link for that eBay grill? It doesn't look too bad.

Why don't more people just use simple black (matt/gloss) paint if they're doing it permanently?
I've put maybe 1000 miles on since painting this black - through city/highway driving - with no chips.
I imagine with a clearcoat or laquer it would be even more difficult to chip/damage

I painted the grill on my Accord, definitely had chipping issues but the material is plastic, not metal so that might be part of the reason. Plus nearly every major freeway in the Dallas area is under construction so that doesn't help either.

I debated painting, plastidip or vinyl... decided to have a vinyl shop wrap my doors and handles. I dont mind the stock 05-06 grill. Wish I knew what they used because it hasn't faded or peeled, I thought for sure winter road salt would kill it. Nope lasted 3 brutal winters so far.. best $100 I ever spent. With tints, the chrome sticks out so bad, especially with black.

As most on here know I'm a big fan of the chrome on my car, but damn Radioguy, your car looks ultra clean with it covered up.
