Talking Added e46 m3 fogs to lower grills

What a nightmare that was... lol, between dremels and routers.. soldering and splicing... I'm glad it's over with.

I added 3k hid fogs with yellow lenses and they produce a beautiful golden yellow in combination of my 6k lows and factory fogs.

I'll get around to taking a picture after work tonight and if you are all lucky.. I might just do a write up.

There you go good sir What's left now is to paint the brackets black, mount the ballasts and order the m3 fog bezel so it hides any imperfections in the grill. Honestly you really can't even tell the grill was cut from even up close.

Because racecar?

Honestly they look like 6000k at night.. there is little to no blue in them at all. I had 6000k on my Audi and they were bluer. Needless to say I am actually happy they aren't true 8000k.

OK, you do realize they have significantly less light output than a 4300 or 5000K bulb right?

Fully aware, I actually meant to order 6000k because I liked the kit my buddy had.. subtle and nice but the 8000ks arrived and I said, let me give it a shot and they honestly look like they were mislabeled but indeed 6000k. I'm not a fan of pure white regardless of output. Anything is better than halogen and now with the culmination of the lower fogs I can sacrifice a few hundred lumen. I'm satisfied with the outcome and I don't expect everyone to enjoy my desicions. I was happy with a mod I did that I so rarely see on g35s. So thank you for misting on my parade .

No misting, I was just curious as to the why. But with your explanations it makes sense, especially the color issue. If the bulbs were truly 8K there would be a significant amount of blue and some purple present so I agree with your assessment they might be 6000K. And ultimately as long as you're happy with your car and your mods screw the haters, which I was definitely not trying to be one. Sorry if I came across that way.

Nice. Those actually look like they fit and you didn't put them too close together like I've seen posted on here before by others. The HIDs look great too, would love to see output shots.

I dig the fogs. They look very clean. It reminds me of another member here that retrofitted civic fogs to their 06 bumper in the same position.

It came out good. I've always wanted to do something like this. I even bought the fog light kit but have been too lazy to deal with all of the cutting and dremmeling. lol

Trust me, if they were 8000k I would have returned them!! Lol.. it's a must see in person as the yellow compliments the lows and factory fogs.

Thank you! Directly behind the grill there is a air dam of sorts so I cut into it and rounded it out so the fogs could sit flush and leave room for the bezel. Any more toward the center the bezel would have to be modified. I saw another member with fogs and his grills had obvious spaces from the cuts and I knew I Def wanted it to be as flush as possible.

Thank you thank you. I looked at all pics for inspiration and saw people recommending the m3 fogs and liked the sized of them, they are pretty big.

Lol, just lay the fog backwards on the grill and mark around it. These fogs I had to use the right one turned around on the left side so it would be a true mark as they taper in. The cutting took an hour for the first one due to constantly putting the fog in and cutting to make adjustments until it was flush. The second grill took about 10 minutes as I used the first grill as a template. Do it now. #fogcrew
