AC Condenser Fan Clarification
AC Condenser Fan Clarification
The condenser fan on my 2003 G35 sedan will not come on. I (thought) I had confirmed power to the fan, so I replaced the fan, thinking it was bad. The relays seem good. But I had a few questions during this troubleshooting process.
1) When I search for a replacement fan for my model on Amazon/Advance Auto, etc. they all show a two-fan shroud. My car only has a single-fan shroud on the condenser, with an engine-driven fan on the other side for the radiator. I ended up buying just a motor and replacing only the motor on my existing shroud.
2) Why are there two to three relays for the cooling fan (the third relay is labeled as cooling fan/heated seats)? I'm assuming that's for the two fans that my car is expected to have? How can I be sure which one is driving my fan? It seems I have a non-standard configuration somehow (it's been like this since I've had the vehicle).
Is there a fuse aside from the relays that could be driving a power issue to my fan?
I would like to put power directly to the fan motor to confirm it's working properly as well as check voltage at the plug, but I can't ID which of the four terminals voltage should go to/be coming from. I can ID the ground terminal, but I'm not sure about the other three terminals.
I know there are a lot of questions throwing out on this post. Thanks for any help or clarification anyone can offer.

For the fan motor, the 4 connections make up two circuits. One circuit runs for low speed and both run for high speed. I just connected a battery to a pair of wires and touched the terminals on the fan connector till I found one circuit which made it spin and then the other which made it spin and then of course both circuits connected make it spin at high speed.
