I'm excited to become a member here and have spent a good 6 months finding the right G35. Today may have been the day I found the one I want. My lifestyle is requiring a sedan over the coupe and I've been looking at anything 05+ because of the interior.

I found a 2006 G35 sedan with navigation that has only 60,000 miles. Clean title. I test drove it and it ran great. No visible signs of any modifications done nor damage to the vehicle. All seams were even and I didn't see any leaks. I am having a shop do an inspection on it tomorrow.

Is there anything I should be worried about with a G35 that only has 60,000 miles put on it in the last 10 years? What kind of maintenance should I look at doing if I purchase it?

How much?
If you buy it, I'd suggest replacing all fluids for a start. The shop should be able to give you a report on suspension condition. Those parts are 11 years old and even with low miles rubber deteriorates.

 

He wanted 8500, the car looked great and the shop said it was in great condition. It would need an alignment, new tires, and replace the drive belt. I would have actually purchased it but the title was not in his name, he never registered it after owning it for the past year. I walked away after hearing that since I wanted to take a small auto loan on it to build credit and no bank or credit union would be able to write the check out in his name.

 

Before you shell out $8500.00 for a sketchy title issue check with a local Infiniti dealer for the cost of a complete inspection that includes running the VIN number,and a vehicle history.
Any deficiencies found by the dealer can be used to lower the price or allow you to walk away.

Definitely don't buy a car with title issues. Not worth the what could be months and months of headaches.

Even used car dealers put the cars that they sell in their name. I think you were wise to walk away.

Oh and by the way, my '05 doesn't use any oil between it's seasonal oil changes @ 1500 - 2000 miles. Only drive it in the summer. 140,xxx miles on her.

 

Make sure you have a thorough independent inspection including pulling the coils and inspecting the spark plug valleys for oil as well as if the compression rod bushings have been replaced. Replacing the valve cover gaskets can cost you mucho dollars. It's very common on all G35s regardless of miles. Mine were leaking at 35,000 miles.

 

So he's a car shark. Pretty common really. They search CL or classifieds for good deals, buy them, and then flip them never having registered in their name. In some states it's illegal to do so as they skirt paying taxes on the purchase.

Guy who bought my G35 was a shark. I didn't care personally as he showed up and showed me cash. Pretty sure he had no intention of registering it in his name.


I'd walk for 8500 as well. Not worth that even if pristine. It's 10 years old

 

Didn't realize it was a sedan . Too bad they lost the resale big time.
