AT Transmission Issue, desperate help needed!

2003 G35 Sedan RWD 188,000km Automatic.

Just recently got a code. P0745 - Pressure Control Solenoid A.

When driving it doesn't shift from 1st to second at the proper RPM, it shifts a lot higher and when it does it jerks, similar to letting the clutch go in a manual car very fast.

I read extensively about this. Transmission was always maintained, J-matic oil every 80,000km.

I dropped the pan, oil didn't look so bad, cleaned magnets, and topped it with new J-Matic fluid from Nissan.

I was no longer getting the code, and after a bit of driving it started to run good. I was a happy camper, and thought I had fixed the problem. Two days later, and it started doing it again, the exact same thing, but again no codes.

I had it at a transmission shop, very known for their work and great people. They had the car for two days doing diagnostics on it, and they concluded it's the transmission, but when I told him about the situation, he said it doesn't hurt to try and replace the solenoids and valves, but he couldn't find anything on his diagnostics leading to that.

I refuse to give up just yet, as I am still about to replace the pressure solenoid and valve to try if that fixes the issue before I start my transmission shopping.

Has this ever happened to anyone? Can I replace just the pressure solenoid and valve, or I need to replace all the solenoids and valves?

This seems a little too soon for the transmission to go. It has 188,000km, which roughly translates to about 130kmiles. My wife drove it all the time, and she's a careful driver.

Any insight, advice, or help would be extremely appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Might as well invest in a transgo shift kit if your replacing solenoids and other components. My car shifted like a beast after that. I don't think the transmission would be bad at 120k on a careful auto, but maybe I'm wrong.

Almost always when our transmissions get to this point they need to be replaced. Hopefully yours can be repaired but I'd start transmission shopping since you need the car fixed as soon as possible.

If it isn't actually slipping then it probably isn't an internal issue. I had a similar problem with a 626 V6 I used to have. A solenoid was going bad and it would shift hard enough on the 1-2 upshift that it would chirp the tires. Basically it was shifting at full line pressure. Car was hit from behind and totaled before I could fix it.

I've seen a few transmission videos on YouTube about the transmission in the early model cars that were used in other Nissan products. A lot of the issues were due to the pins on the connector of the valve body having a crappy solder joint. Maybe it's an issue like that?

I had it at a transmission shop, and he thoroughly checked it, and I believe him as his a transmission guru in the city.

I bought a used tranny, about to install it tomorrow.

I'll keep posting

Replaced transmission for a used and tested one, and it's doing the exact same thing.

My mechanic and also myself, we're stunned.

Any help or advice please.

It'll be good for that, he's a buddy of mine, but still I maybe have to re-program the TCM, or something, but I don't know what's going on.

No codes!

Hate to say it but it might be time to take it to the dealer and see if the Consult 2 machine can help diagnose the issue.....

You're right, and I should've done that when I first started having the issue, I just hated having to pay 120 bucks for a 15min hook up, and now I have to lol.

I've been doing a lot of reading, and some of these cars had TCM issues and people had to replaced their TCM.

I have an appointment with the stealer tomorrow.

In another note, I have a 2003 VW Passat, and I have VAG-COM for it, which is similar to CONSULT for Nissan, and I've been looking for CONSULT software online with no luck, apparently only a dealer thing, which is a bummer.

Thanks for your help anyway

Car's been at the dealer all day, and they still can't figure out the problem. Everything checks out, just like it did when I was tinkering with it.

Jeez

Service guys said that need to replace front bearing hubs - they replaced - same thing.

Also with my uncle checked rear wheels - we lifted and check rear wheels in air by running. In lifted position - no that noise. Very weird.

Could somebody specify what's noise? Looks like noise from the front? Probably transmission. I bought that car two months ago. And before go to Los Angeles from San Jose decide replace front hub bearings and brake rotors. But still noisy - I very scared that car will destruct in that trip, but still alive.

I did make video with that noise. Please help.

Here's video -
Trrr....r.rr.r.r... sound.

Thanks.
Please start a new thread, don't thread Jack. Thanks.
