I just picked up a 2006 G35X Sedan, with the HID headlights. The driver side is cracked and has allowed in some moisture, I am looking to get a used replacement at the junk yard or ebay..


Does anyone know what year G35 sedans/coupes are compatible with each other?

All sedans are compatible with all sedans, but don't confuse HID lamps with non HID lamps. You can always swap the LENSES from HID to non HID and vice versa, but maybe not the black rear housing.

Coupes headlights fit coupe only.

 

Thank you! Are the designs inside the headlight assembly any different from year to year or are they all the same?

 

Early 03 sedans had halogen low beams and I don't know if the insides of the assembly are different. Maybe someone with one will chime in but 04-06 are all compatible.

 

I think 03-04 and 05-06 are the two year breakdowns.

Slight changes in the hood/bumper lines prevent a clean swap between the two groups. I want to say they will bolt up, but there will be bad gaps and such.

Easiest way to answer your question is that 2005 and 2006 sedans are the most correct headlight assembly for your car. Coupes are a no go, and the 03-04 sedans may not be a perfect fit if they do bolt up at all.

 

Good point ^ I forget about doggy door sedans. 03-04 only and 05-06 only (doh!
