Takeda air intake help

Bought the Takeda intake forgot I have the round mass air flow sensor can you switch that out or not. Have a 2003 G35 Sedan was looking for a short ram intake. Any help would be appreciated.

If at all possible take/send the intake back to the seller! Those type of intakes will turn your sedan into a major slug! Our G35s love cool/cold air, those intakes allow your car to breathe nothing but hot air causing loss of HP! Trying to get more air into your plenum, buy a AMSOIL drop in dry filter for the best filtered air possible!

Thanks Gary I have a drop in K & N right now are those ok? Also if say I wanted a cold air intake what would you recommend or is the stock air intake the best option. I will be sending the takeda back.

The factory intake is a cold air system. The z-tube helps a bit. Straight through design vs the added resonator of the G35.

So if we plugged the resonator would it effectively be a heavy Z tube?

Kabbage, you have all you need to get cooler air into your plenum! However, Stillens cold air intake and z-tube combination is the only intake mod that doesn't cause WHP loss. Regardless of what manufactures claim there are no HP gains from intakes on our G35s, FYI...Gary

Not so fast my friend, the R2C intake seals against the hood so it just takes in air through the open front from the grill plus they have the best dry filters on the planet.

Pretty expensive though. Summit sells the filter and heat shield and reuses your stock intake tube (Z-tube in my case) for $150. Good deal?

Yep I'd jump all over that deal as the filter and enclosure work all the magic. Their "R2C tube" looks nice but does the same thing as a z-tube. I run a chromed version of a z-tube with my R2C.

Ordered, let you know how I like it when it arrives. Then I need to schedule a tune.

Discussing air intakes ideas...SLICK runs a Fujita intake with a AMSOIL cone filter. I removed all the brackets from the inside of the drivers side front fender so there's no restriction. Her KurumaZ front bumper picks up air from the left front vent. Much better than breathing all that hot air under the hood!
