Need help burning & smoke!

After going to this "mechanic" to get serviced. My service light ironically popped up. The start up sound way different then before the service(sound more muscular but bad muscular) and it also lost power when I floor the gas peddle. After some time some came up and I smelt a burning type of smell. After a few days I drove it for about 11 miles and then suddenly I feel the drivers floor getting hot and found a burnt spot. please help !

Sounds like you melted your catalytic converter, what error code were you getting?

Pretty much only the cat can generate enough heat to cause interior burning through the floorpan.

For the future, check engine light + limp mode = don't drive the vehicle until fixed.

Thank you! Now that you mention it I remember hearing the mechanic saying something about my catalytic converter, but everything was fine until he serviced it. After he serviced it everything went up into ****.

Coincidence probably, if he offers a good price have him look at your cats.

Were you bending over and holding your ankles?
There are some mechanics that love doing that to their customers.

If the reason you went was for a severe misfire, that could easily have messed up your cats and it'll just keep getting worse.
