G37 X A blowing semi cold

G37 X A blowing semi cold

2011 G37X 64K miles AC blows somewhat cold but not cold enough. Clutch engages fine thermometer reads 65 deg at vent and no leaks detected by trusted Mech

does it blow colder/better crusing on the highway verses low speed city driving? Maybe the condensor is blocked up with debris?

My mech I trust cant figure it out. I just had him charge it to correct pressure and its holding no leaks. I just changed cabin filter (Thank God) I do suspect it may be condensor blocked but though my mech would have tried it. Have a local garage out for $$ wants $2200 replace the compressor and drier at 64K miles right! not happening . My mech adamantly disagrees.

So Cleaned Condenser out and no change. BTW I measured the center vent temp down to 65deg F minimum. Any other Ideas?

Does it properly cycle through all the different cabin vents and blower motor speed scales properly from low to high? Does it feel like it's pushing the correct volume of air out of the vents?

Pay particular attention to the blend motor, I think you can actually SEE it by removing the glove box and cabin air filter housing and using a flashlight and inspection mirror to look up into the ductwork while you operate the blend door from hot to cold. It's possible the hinge or something on it is broken and it's not closing completely thus letting hot air into the ductwork.

Air pressure good

Air blows very strong when cycling through different settings.

Description

The ECV (electrical control valve) is installed in t
he compressor and controls it for emitting appropriate amount
of refrigerant when necessary.
Diagnosis Procedure

1.
CHECK POWER SUPPLY FOR EC
V (ELECTRIC CONTROL VALVE)
1. Disconnect compressor (ECV) connector.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Check voltage between compressor (ECV) harness connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> GO TO 3
NO
>> GO TO 2
2.
CHECK FUSE
Check power supply circuit and 10A fuse [No. 3, located in the fuse block (J/B)]. Refer to
PG-125, "
Fuse, Connector and Terminal Arrangement
"
.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> Check harness for open circuit. Repair or replace if necessary.
NO
>> Replace fuse and check harness for short circuit. Repair or replace if necessary.
3.
CHECK ECV CONTROL SIGNAL
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Reconnect compressor (ECV) connector.
3. Perform self-diagnosis. Refer to
HAC-66, "
WITHOUT PLASMACLUSTER SYSTEM : Diagnosis Description
"

4. Set in self-diagnosis STEP-4 (Code No. 45).
5. Confirm ECV control signal between unified meter and A/C amp
harness connector M67 terminal 65 and ground using an oscillo-
scope.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
>> Replace compressor.
NO
>> GO TO 4
