Exhaust

Hey guys im new to the forum but i have got a lot of reading help off of here and its helped out a lot. Ok so i have an 03 g35 sedan and when i got it from a buddy of mine he had messed with the exhaust and im sure there is supposed to be an exhaust support that helps hold the exhaust up from sagging so to say. Well anyways my mid pipe keeps cracking open and causing bad exhaust leaks but its from my y pipe weighing down and pulling on the rest and cracking it open so do any of you know of a support that is supposed to hold my y pipe area up so it isnt drooping down.

Welcome to Driver Tyler! Easy fix for your issue...have a "Muffler Shop" weld in a pipe hanger for your exhaust system, they can also weld up any cracking in your system!

If your exhaust has anything aftermarket in it, most likely the cats were removed. The cats have a bracket to bolt them onto the body and prevent sagging. Many aftermarket test pipes don't have any there. Also pretty often the test pipes have flexes in them and the y pipes have flexes in them so it all sags around the transmission area.

I've replaced my y-pipe twice so far (coupe) and it doesn't have any hangers on it. The CATs are pretty sturdy and the bolts support the y-pipe to the CATs and midpipe. I would say check your midpipe and muffler those should have some hangers on them.
