Help!: Need to source a CORRECT '04 aux fan motor
I have a 10/2003 '04 Sedan and the aux fan motor finally gave up the magic smoke and quit working. I bought what was SUPPOSED to be a direct replacement for the OEM but this crappy TYC motor is obviously for later models that are pullers. Mine is a pusher so the motor is spinning in the wrong fricking direction. Having gone through two different vendors promising the correct part and both sending me the exact same WRONG part, I need help from the community.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.

Call the infiniti dealer, run your VIN, have them give you the correct part number. Just because your vehicle was sold in '04 and licensed as an '04 DOES NOT MEAN IT'S ACTUALLY AN '04.
My "2012 ford focus" is a 2011 on paper (bought in october for the new model year release) a complete redesign and no 2011 parts will fit on this vehicle so...

Is this the configuration of fans? This is an actual dealer and their diagrams are correct.

EDIT: also appears to use a different configuration of fans depending on coupe/sedan?? Did the coupe not get the belt-driven fan at all?

Unfortunately not. I have a mechanical belt driven radiator fan and a pusher aux fan. Every fan motor I've found so far is a puller.

However, every cross reference I've found so far for that part gives the WRONG motor. They source the same TYC puller motor which of course spins the pusher fan the wrong direction. Mechanically they're the same but electrically, not so much.

Call wrecking yards in your area and see if they have a used one, then you can verify which side of the radiator the fan is mounted.
If you have a belt-driven fan, then the aux fan you are looking for is an early '03 G35, not the later '03 or newer. Also have the option of deleting the pulley-driven fan and going with a double puller, iirc there's a DIY around here somewhere for that.

Good to know, thanks Cleric. Seems like that was one point Nissan couldn't quite make their mind up on at that point in time. Unfortunately that means I either get one from a wrecking yard as you suggested or pay close to $200 for a new one. Still cheaper than an overheated engine but I was hoping to find a less costly alternative to a piece of unobtainium.

The motors are individually replaceable so you don't need the whole shroud and fan blades. A nissan or infiniti dealer should be able to give you the correct part # based on VIN and then you can order them through rock auto.

Another viable option is to have the motor rewound, anyone that rebuilds starters / alternators in your area can rewind a motor.

If you look at the drawing that RockAuto has (wish I had originally) you'll see they indicate clockwise rotation. The fan is designed for counter clockwise rotation. The drawing also disagrees with the fan blade pitch. If the fan they have does indeed turn clockwise then their part makes sense in that application however it does not work with the fan I have currently.
