Car starts up if I push the door lock/unlock button in car

This is the craziest thing I have ever seen on my 04 G35x do if I push the switch to lock/unlock the door from inside the car ... the car starts up on its own! now how and why is the happening .... HELP ME FIX THIS ISSUE PLEASE. If put the key in the ignition the car will drive normally... but I also can cut the car off if I push the brake or the unlock/lock switch in the car some one help with this....

help

I was puzzled at first, given that the car supposedly does not have a remote starter.... all I knew is that I got out of the car, stood next to the door, pressed the lock button, and the engine suddenly started... as if by magic.

Today I discovered that the enginestarts on its own only when the "lock" button is pressed twice in a row, either using the FOB or the buttons on the doors.

Is this supposed to happen or is there something wrong with the car?

Stand outside the car and press the lock button three time so you hear the actuators click 3 times quickly. If it starts, that’s the factory remote start AFAIK

Why is this the first time in all my reading of the forum and stickies that I have heard of this "factory remote start" you speak of? Will the same triple button push on the intelligent key fob start it from a distance?

Now I can't wait to get off work to check this out. Gonna really make the afternoon drag. So thanks for that!

Well that's a letdown. All I managed to do is unlock and lock the car multiple times....

From the key fob! I meant the key fob. Triple lock.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Guys there is no such thing as a factory remote start on the 03-06 sedan/coupes and the 07 coupe. Wherever you heard that Urban they were mistaken.

OP it's possible someone installed an aftermarket remote start module and tied it into the factory fob/Ikey system if that's possible. I haven't heard of such a mod in my almost 9 years here but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I had purchased an aftermarket remote starter years ago for a former car, and that's exactly how it was it was supposed to be installed if you didn't want a separate fob. Depending on the number of relays installed with the remote start module determined the lock/unlock/lock sequence to activate it (though it's supposed to be using the fob, but I guess the door switch in theory would also make it work).

Been waiting for someone to bump this thread.

Ultimately it was a remote start that could also start with the factory key. Pretty neat.
