Angry Again manual mode

Just had a new shifter assembly installed in my 2005 infniti g35x sedan due to manual mode not working all the time. Now when I start the car it goes into manual mode , but while driving it changes over to "D" by itself? The only way to get it to return to manual mode is to stop and restart the car. Already spent 1000 on shifter and install. This is really annoying on another wise great car. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Should have bought a stick but could not find one.

Should be in the shifter assembly.

Somewhere in here. Just look for the microswitch that gets pushed when switching from automatic to manual mode.

You spent $1000? wow thats a lot, and for that much it shouldn't be giving you issues.

It's possible it's a solenoid in the valve body itself going bad. Dealership can replace the valve body, but it runs up near $1800. If you've already replaced the shifter assembly, that's really the only other thing it could be aside from overheating. If you're going to go ahead and fix the valve body, I'd recommend getting a rebuild kit/shop install instead of dealership; cheaper, and will last longer/shift faster.
