Opinions on this 2004 G35 Sedan?

Hello,

I am in the market for a new car. I've been driving a 1996 Accord for a while now and I am looking at this 2004 G35: https://www.crownmotorspdx.com/vehic...b3e239088ba1b6
The carfax records supplied on that site look very good, and considering it has only had 2 owners I think $4,000 for a 150k mileage G35 might be a decent deal. It looks like maintenance has been done pretty regularly and at 120,000 had the radiator/ and belts replaced.
I will probably go look at this car in a few days and was wondering if there's anything specific on this year to watch out for. I do my own work on my accord so I am prepared to start replacing things as the mileage goes up.

Appreciate all feedback! Thanks

Fluid maintenance looks great however they mysteriously omitted a photo of the driver seat so I'm going to guess it's probably torn. It's a base level G not the premium package so you likely won't have a sunroof but I don't know if it's even important to you.

There's a very good chance that every suspension bushing is shot, the struts are likely near the end of their life, the rear differential bushing is probably shot as well.

Most of these things are fairly easy to replace yourself if you're proficient at turning wrenches. The price sounds fair considering the overall condition. If this car is exactly what you're looking for I would buy it, nothing is screaming "RED FLAGGG!!! RUUUUNNN!" to me.

Make sure to press EVERY SINGLE BUTTON to verify everything actually works. It's also a good idea to have the local Nissan or Infiniti dealership perform a pre-purchase inspection just to have another set of eyes on it so nothing is missed. They charge a small'ish fee for it but it's usually worth it.

Thanks for the response. I don't really mind about the accessories but that means this is a the 5 speed automatic? It's honestly not my first choice when it comes to a new car, I do like the aspect of having a nice RWD car though and I think it looks good. The interior color isn't my favorite but I am getting bored of this Accord. In no way do I NEED this car or strongly prefer it over others, it just seemed like a good deal after I read how well these cars hold up + the list of mait. records.

Also would it be due for a new water pump and timing belt? I know my honda has an interval of about every 60k miles.

Water pump and timing CHAINS are considered "life of the motor" and only require replacement if something breaks, the water pump is rarely replaced and usually only when folks are unable to to fix an overheat condition with all the other usual repairs (t-stat, radiator, etc). The timing chain is typically only replaced if you ever have a diagnostic trouble code for IVT controls that can't be fixed by replacing the cam actuators, incredibly rare for the chain to ever NEED to be replaced, same with the water pump, both items are 200k+ miles usually.

Most folks end up replacing the chains and water pump simply because they have the front of the engine torn down and it's convenient to do so.

6 speed G35 sedan
Surprisingly in the pictures it appears the front seat is intact. That's not typical! It's kinda like a unicorn at this point.

Bought my 6 speed '04 about 2 1/2 years ago with 132k, one owner car, all service records, clean CarFax, window sticker, original sales contract, etc. Exclusively dealer serviced other than the owner did his own oil changes (and logged them in the maintenance log) with Mobil1 every 5000 miles. So I've had very few issues with it over that time and 38,000 miles.

Properly maintained, these are pretty solid cars. Front suspension component longevity isn't great and some sensors (cam/crank especially) can cause issues. Headlights are prone to fading but if not bad can be polished back out. Oil consumption is a known issues so check it every 500 miles for the first 3000 or so miles if you buy the car so you can see what kind of oil usage issues you may have. A quart of oil every 2500-4000 miles is pretty decent for the VQ35.
