Trade my 06 G35 sedan for a 08 Lexus IS 250?

Hey guys, my wife and I are going to be moving a little farther away from my job. It's about 29 miles away so I was thinking of possibly trading my car for a 08 Lexus IS 250 to be more fuel efficient. Both cars are auto. My car has 150k miles and has nav and rear view camera. The 08 Lexus has 141k miles and has nav and rear view camera as well. I love my G but the paint is kind of bad and I love the style of the Lexus IS 250 and IS 350 cars.

1. Do you think it's suspicious that the guy is willing to trade for an older car with more miles that has more power?

2. If he truly is looking for more power and wants to trade, do you think I should do it?

Here are some pics.

You should definitely spend some time with the guy, show eachother your cars in detail, and go for extended test drives before making a trade like this. You want to be sure both cars are in similar condition. Of course, Lexus has a reputation for reliability (I have no personal experience with IS250s however) so he's probably getting the riskier deal if both cars are equally maintained condition.

Thank you Csw! Definitely. I was thinking the same thing. If I do it, I'm definitely gonna miss the power :/, but i like the body style of the is 250 a lot more, plus the paint is in good condition unlike my G's and to respray is too much $$$$.

IS250 is a slug and the interior is pretty small, especially the back seat. You'd be better off getting a similar year V6 Accord (mine gets 30 mpg freeway) than the IS250.

I appreciate it. I don't wanna go back to a Honda though. I think I'm gonna hang on to my G unless an IS 350 shows up for trade (I highly doubt it). I might have to buy something for the G so I can fall back in love with it. Lol.

Maybe look at the GS350, it has a bigger interior and trunk. Biggest knock for me on the IS is how small it is inside.
