I have a few questions regarding a 2006 G35x I just bought. The plate light mounting bracket is rusted out completely. The light is just dangling without the cover either. Are there any ways this can be fixed without paying over eightty dollars and waiting on the part to arrive? I was told on a Facebook the 06 g35's have two lights. I'm not sure why I only see one. My last question sounds dumb but what do I use to mount a temp plate?

 

There are plastic holes for the plate to mount to that would work. I would Just disconnect the lights for now.

 

Not a good idea to remove the light, it will draw the attention of the police. When cars are stolen, many thief's break the license plate light, I had a bulb out one time and I got pulled over for it - no other reason, just the burned out bulb. My son's '05 has the same problem with the light bracket, I just left it for now, will tackle it after Christmas.

 

I found the other light in the bumper. That one had the light housing. I used a 30lbs double sided tape and just mounted the one light to the bumper. It's a temp fix. I would have at least taped both of the up but for some reason parts store never seem to stock infinity parts.

 

The one on my 2005 G35x sedan was all rusted out, etc....
I happened to find one that wasn't too bad at the "u-pick-um" junk yard....guy gave it to me for free....
