G35 Sedan 2004


Finally fix my infamous intermittent wiper issue. It became worse in the cold weather and as it warmed up, it got somewhat better.


Basically, it just bounced 3-4 times when wiping down. Bad wipers demo:
The culprit was the original wiper motor. Just have to clean the sensor contacts and circuit internally. Too much grease builds up on top. Don’t remove the grease from the gears. Clean motor demo

So if your stuck in my situation, and already tried cleaning the windshield, buying rain-x wiper blades, and new linkage arms. Give this a shot.



You probably don’t even need to remove the entire wiper assembly, Just remove the black cowl, wipers, disconnect wiper connector, and then remove the wiper’s black electrical cover. Once you are there, remove the four screws and disconnect the wiper connector. Don't strip the screws



Clean the sensor contacts & circuit. I simply used q-tips. It's all of the circular copper surface. wipe clean and the contact tip. There are 2 contact tips.



Then put everything back together.

Once it was clean, I installed the same motor back in and tested the following morning. It was about 20 degrees and the wiper works correctly now.

BTW, if you know what grease to refill, let me know.

It's probably dielectric grease if it's supposed to be on the electric parts. NOT anti-oxidation grease which is conductive.
