Kids is the main reason. I plan on getting another once my (95)s10 gives out. I love the look of the coupe but, I think I would rather buy a Z than a G coupe.JMO

Married with children. Also I like the look and it is more refined than the coupe. I also took into condsideration that the sedan is a fast as the coupe.

G35 sedan are way nicer than the coupe!!!!

For me, i think the G35 sedan are better then the coupe.
1 got more room space.
2 Faster than the coupe ( because the sedan are lighter then coupe)
3 i like the sporty sedan
4 a black G35 sedan are look way better than the black G3 coupe

i guarantee you my near stock coupe will beat any near stock sedans.

it is lighter but our coupes have more horsepower and are tuned better.
and im not sure but do we have bigger/wider tires as well for launch?

That's a gusty statement, Maverick I don't think that extra 5whp/5wtq (dyno proven) is going to give you that much advantage over a 70lb lighter sedan. The larger, heavier, and wider tires don't help things either. They actually work against the coupe. Big rims with short sidewall tires are great for lateral grip, but not for straightline acceleration and traction.

Maverick? im confused. are you calling me maverick?

i thought the times for coupe were faster than sedan in general. not counting the 05. the 05 sedan would probably win against me but not a 05 coupe.

and 5 whp/5 wtq was proven on a dyno but we've all seen how accurate those can be. if you take like 10 coupes and 10 sedans and dyno them all on the same dyno, im pretty sure the average hp difference between coupe and sedan will be greater than that.

you have to compare apples. my claim is that my 04 5AT will beat an 03-04 5AT sedan.

as for tires. i actually got the 17'' rims. the only car that has really 19'' is the 05 coupe, but those are lighter rims than the 18''. also, on all coupes the rear tires are wider i think to provide more launch traction.

not only that, the coupe is alot lower than the sedan, meaning air resistance on the sedan will be much greater than on the coupe. i think i remember reading that stripping 11 pounds off the top of a car (eg. CF roof) will have the same effect as stripping a few hundred pounds off the car near the center of gravity. this is because of the relationship of torque = radius x force. the force of the wind resistance pushing back against the car will be stronger the farther away you are from the center of mass.

on the subject of why you got the sedan. i dont think speed is a factor for anyone. regardless of whether it is faster or slower, the difference in speed between the coupe and the sedan will be negligible and impossible to notice. (.2-.3 difference in 0-60 times?)

The coupe is a 1/2 faster to 60mph than the sedan for sure. If one was to argue that they are close to dead-even IRL, that may be true - but faster ?

1/2 sec is a bit much. i dont think the difference is that big. maybe 0.2 seconds. ive seen 5.6 s in a manual coupe and a 5.8 in a manual sedan.

No offense, but that is complete and utter bullchit and makes no sense whatsoever in terms of acceleration. However, it is true that losing weight in a wheel (rotating mass) will help with acceleration moreso than static weight of the chassis/body by a factor of about 4X to 6X on average, depending on many factors.

Also, FYI - the sedan has a lower coefficient of drag (.27) than the coupe (.29)

For 03/04... the coupe was maybe slightly faster. But for 2005, it's the exact same specs for sedan/coupe - that's one reason it was easier to get my 6MT sedan and not consider the coupe. And stealth.

**** youre right. haha. i forgot that the torque equation applies to the car's rotation as a whole and that the force * radius does not apply to this situation. my bad i guess my physics is rusty. or i didnt think this through.

hmm. that IS odd. is that because the coupe is wider? the fact that the coupe is lower should be a big factor in reducing drag shouldnt it? is the sedan more aerodynamic than the coupe?

The sedan with the Aero package lowers the CF down to an impressive 0.26 whereas the coupe is stuck in the 0.29 range. Yes, for what ever reason, the sedan is quite a bit more aerodynamic than the coupe. It probably has to do a lot with the longer rear end of the sedan and reduced lift.

my family got the sedan because it was the only choice available at that time. we purchased the g sedan on may 29, 2002. the coupe was not released yet at that time.
