My PVC hose cracked on the 05' and I just used bulk hose by the foot. Just pull it off and go to your local auto parts store and have them match the ID.

My PCV hose had a slight crack near the valve end, covered it in silicone and no more vacuum leak. I've actually sourced two "new" hoses from the wrecking yard in the event a new crack develops.

When I put it back together, Is it safe to use Dawn for lubricant on all these hoses?

Just use a little oil from the dipstick, those hoses are literally sucking oil through them (crankcase vapor) so the plastic is oil resistant.

Well, I found a 2nd hose busted to hell, ordered new silicone ones since my local shop was trying to Google the **** for me... Going terribly now though, can't get this corner bolt out of the passenger cover. Broke the bigger hose that runs out of the firewall along the wire harness right over that bolt and then turns down...can't figure out what it actually is to get a new one. Anybody know? I'll get a pic when I can.
*Seems to be my heater hose..yay.

Common hose to break sadly. Z1 sells replacements.

Might sound crazy but I have to ask...is there some reason I shouldn't put a bead of rtv around the top edge in the gap between the spark plug well and the valve cover after I get the covers back on?

That might mess with how your coil pack sits flush. That's not where the oil leaks anyhow; the oil makes it's way past the seal and down through the tiny gap between the seals and the well tubes, not up past the seals and DOWN the tubes.

Thank you. I totally didn't get that before. Now I really feel like an idiot. Lmao. I know I've beat this thread to death but what's the worst that could happen if I overtorqued the covers?

Well they're plastic, so don't over torque the **** out of them or you'll have much more than a gasket leak!

Lol. I figured. I went easy, but I don't have a torque wrench and I don't see how I could have gotten those corner bolts on the covers with it anyway. hell of a time getting these hoses back on everything. I HATE these damn clips. There has to be an easier way..lmao.

Are you talking about the hose clamps? I have a few pairs of needle nose pliers, some straight, some angled, various different sizes and lengths. Definitely worth the $20 or so at harbor freight for a good selection of needle nose to get various clamps on/off.

The only way I was able to properly torque down the corner bolt closest to the driver was using a small 1/4" drive torque wrench, and reaching my arm essentially down the path of the intake, and hold the top of the torque wrench from over top with the other hand.
