Y-pipe or full cat back replacement
Y-pipe or full cat back replacement
I have to replace a rusted y-pipe on my 2006 G35x Sedan but wondering if I should get a full cat back exhaust replacement. Other than the cost difference, what do you all think?
Bosal y-pipe for $115 is hard to beat

Personally I would find a used OEM coupe mid-pipe on eBay or locally. It's a proven way to increase the overall sound of the sedan with zero negative side-effects like drone/rasp. It's also probably cheaper than the option you listed.
I added the coupe mid pipe to my G35 sedan, also installed an HKS muffler. Made a HUGE sound difference and it also saved a bunch of weight! I went with a "Walker" Mid pipe and it fit perfectly!
Totally, I added a metal plate to the bottom but yeah, not the wisest decision. I had jack stands under while I was working though. Only place I could work on it and the yard didn’t seem any more stable and the street was possible either.

I went with the Megan OE-RS when it was on sale after being on backorder forever. I absolutely love it! Not too loud when just cruising around and sounds bad *** when you get on it. No drone at all in my opinion. I researched forever looking for something in the middle of factory and ridiculous. It's the best money I've ever spent on my G besides powdercoating my couple rims.
