Re: G35 vs 330i sport.

0-6000rpm is not the same in the ///M3 and the G35
looks like the Canadian version is much slower.

First off, idle - 2000 the G35 off the line is a dog, while the ///M3 launches and pins you in the seat.

MT numbers
First Gear 5AT
0-30
2.3 seconds
Coupe 6MT
2.1 seconds
3 series 5MT
2.3
///M3
1.7seconds right off the back is ~a 1/2 a second faster

Idle - 3000 the ///M3 is slower then the G35.

But if both cars are at 3,000 rpms in any gear and they both punch it the ///M3 would be out in front.

right now the 330ipp might be a tad slower (.02 seconds) then the 6MT sedan.

Why do we keep going back to the M3? The M3 is not a 330. It's in a whole different league.

Re: G35 vs 330i sport.

Isnt that odd that the G35 auto is working at the same pace as the 330i manual. No wonder BMW had to bring out the new engine just to keep up witht he G35 manual and yet they are so close in times. But my question now how can the 330i have less hp than the G35 but yet get the same times?

Re: G35 vs 330i sport.

330i has a better torque curve and gearing.

G35 is a dog off the line.
Fix that lag and then maybe we can hit mid 5's

Re: G35 vs 330i sport.

Better gearing and a higher average torque across the entire RPM spectrum.

(Oops.. didn't see your answer hiding on page 2, envykillz.)
