Will a magnaflow 14832 with a 2.25in inlet fit on a 2.5in inlet?

Will a magnaflow 14832 with a 2.25in inlet fit on a 2.5in inlet?
So as the title states, will my 04 G35x sedan be able to fit the magnalow 14832? Similarly i've seen videos with other 03-07 sedans with a magnaflow 14815 that also has a 2.25in inlet. How does that work? Does it restrict airflow?
