I bumped into something when driving the other day and bent my rear wheel and.. when I look underneath I can see a piece of metal was bent so I need to get a replacement parts. Can you please tell me what this is...see pic

See right off the wheel, that small metal bar is bent in the middle...

 

Rear lower link arm
Rear lower camber arm
Rear lower toe arm
FSM calls it front lower link (in the rear suspension).

 

Is it a radius rod or is it called trailing arm? Finding mixed info when looking for parts... Are you sure it's not number 23 on the diagram

 

normally they are called rear toe arms.

I have a pair sitting in the garage if you want them for a 2005 sedan AWD.

 

Thanks so much but I don't think the awd work for the rwd based off what I've read.. so is this the part I need? Obviously don't need it to be adjustable but is this it? I'm having such a hard time bc those two parts look soooo similar!!! And they are so close to each other on the diagram I can't determine which is the one I need 🤷

 

It's not the radius arm, that's the one that points straight towards the front of the car. The radius arm is commonly (mistakenly) referred to as the "traction arms".

 

Finally some clarification! Thanks a lot LOL but now that I know it's not the radius arm, I need to find a part that it is to order two of them. Could you possibly find a link to one so I know I'm doing the right thing for sure... I figure you're spending enough time trying to explain this **** to me might as well send me a link right LOL

 

I guess the big questions is going to be do you want OEM stock ones or do you want adjustable aftermarket ones.

Either will work fine, either will REQUIRE an alignment when you're done.

I have the Z1 Motorsports rear kit, here is a link to just the camber/toe arm, those Dorman ones you linked earlier are probably a lot cheaper and should work fine.

The trick when installing adjustable aftermarket arms is to get them set to exactly the same length as the OEM ones (not the bent one obviously). The easiest way to do this is to remove the one from the other side of the car that's still good, put the bolts back through the holes in the bar, then fit the rest of the bolt into the same holes on the new adjustable ones. This guarantees it's set to the same length so the alignment shop won't have to screw around with the adjustable turnbuckle and can make all the alignment corrections from the OEM eccentric washer that connects the toe/camber rod to the subframe.

You should be able to find some available on eBay if you want used OEM stuff.

 

Also just so you have all the info, typically when you use the adjustable turnbuckle-style aftermarket toe arms you normally delete the OEM eccentric bolt/washer that's used for alignment since you now have adjustability at the turnbuckle. They make an eccentric washer delete kit that replaces it with a big square washer. Nothing wrong with leaving the eccentric washer though.

 

You know I had a feeling that I might actually have the parts you need out in my recycle pile because I just did a full poly bushing set and adjustable camber kit for a guy with a 2006 6MT coupe like mine last winter. Sure enough I have all the stuff leftover, this will work on any 2003-2007 coupe or 2003-2006 sedan that's RWD. Not totally sure if it all fits on an AWD but I suspect it would.

I have a few questions on replacing that lateral link. Do I need any special tools to replace this? Looks like two bolts, however since the rod is bent, will I need to take anything else apart to get the new one installed? Guess I'm unsure if there will be pressure preventing me from aligning the bolt holes. Is it as simple as removing 2 bolts and replacing the part? Also, I have a G35X, so are the part#s the same? I see these on Rock auto:
