2006 RWD Lower Rear control arm removal

Can anyone please help me by explaining the trick to unscrewing the nut which attaches the lower ball joint on the rear lower control arm. After removing the split pin the bolt just rotates with the ball joint and won't unthread. I've tried an electric impact wrench but no joy. Is there a trick to it, or a tool? How do the pros do it? I've searched all the threads but not much direct help.
Thank you.

Michigan.

You have a rear ball joint? Not exactly sure what connection you are describing.

Which number part?

My mechanic told me control arm but I guess a lot of people call it a compression arm, sorry for confusion.

My advice is to add some kind of load to the part. If it's unbolted from both ends, just move it to it's max degree of rotation and that should help with adding tension.

I was lucky when I unbolted mine, it came right off with the impact. Try sticking a crowbar in there or something to help load it. Mabye another member can chime in.

Spray with WD-40 or PB Blaster and let soak for a few minutes.

Stick a screw driver between the nut and the knuckle and loosen the 19mm nut

Put a floor jack directly under the ball joint and raise til the suspension compresses and starts raising the car. You should be able to remove the nut while the pressure is pushing up on it.
