Yep you were right, NOT the part some long plastic clip

The more I look at them I don't see how these COULD come off.

The only perfect fix is to mask, sand and paint them with super gloss black. Not doing that.

Bought the overlays...should be here soon...I'll post the before and after.

UPDATE: got the overlays, and DID NOT put them on....WAY too thick.

As a test I had some cheap carbon fiber looking vinyl wrap to try and see if that would work. The thickness of the vinyl was good so it wouldn't look out of whack.

the first two pillars came out meh, the next came out better. Knowing that IS going to work I ordered some high gloss wrap and installing fluid to get it perfect....(the mrs doesn't like the carbon-fiber look)
Now I know how to remove the chrome trim and rubber to get the next attempt damn near perfect.

I'll post an update with the new wrap.

Note: the sand, paint, high gloss urethane WOULD be the best option.

Looks like the wrap might be the best option. I think CZP may actually have these decals (guess they're not paint?), but they're not cheap for what they are.

Ahh man so close...mine is a 2005 Sedan

yeah pretty pricey. ....I saw on Infiniti Parts Deal for the 2007 and up G35 a roll of blackout tape...which would be about the same as what I'll be doing.
