Amp overheating

A couple of months ago stereo stopped working in my 2003 sedan. I bought OEM amp from ebay, installed it last night with no result. I left the new amp in overnight, started the car this morning (32F) and it worked just fine throughout the commute. Later today I started the car again (65F) and no sound again? Is my amp overheating and shuts off? What could be the reason?
AC and radio controls are working fine, which makes me think it's not HU?

Does the sound work initially and then cuts off after a few mins? Or no sound at all?

Hmm. Well they both need eachother to operate so it will be difficult to tell without having a spare to test with.

If u are good with electrical wiring, you can bypass one of the channel wires at the amp to see if you get any sound from that speaker. That will tell u if the head unit is good or bad.
