2003 g35 sedan 6M/T unprogrammable
This is my ECU and looks like I lucked out.
So Iv been rocking and building vq35de for years now. Original car was 350z 2006 roadster. I recently purchased a g35 2003 sedan 6mt. And a whole bunch of parts. IV been reading these forms for 1000+ hours in the last 8 years IV owned Z's and G's and never knew that the 2003 sedan has a unprogrammable ECU until I uncovered it tonight. I panicked and found a old post/picture that shows the 3 ecus and which one is the bad one.
I just want to double verify that I have a good ECU and about to continue with my build.
Last question. I have a buddy who totaled his 2003 g35 coupe and has a ecu with uprev + arc it looks to be the same as mine and his has NATS deleted on it also is this plug and play for me?
Hope you enjoyed the pictures!
You have the good ECU. Its hit n miss with the 03 sedans, about half of them have the older style ECU that we can't flash.
You shouldn't have any trouble using his ECU since NATS is already bypassed

So to test his ECU just plug it where mine is and start the car. Use my uprev cable to check if it has the two licence's once plugged into my car?
And since I have the good ECU but still have 03 narrowband sensors find a 2004.5 harness with same ecu plug and rewire everything?? JW as I got this car in such amazing condition and cheap so yeah I would still come out ahead. I stayed up until 5am est last night digging and didn't see any post with people doing conversations other then the LC1 conversation to communicate with uprev but they don't have those anymore just the LC2 for what I can find but idk if uprev still communicate with those anymore.
If it doesn't have NATS bypassed then the car won't start so you can be fairly certain that it does have a reflash license on it already, but yes you can check the license status with rom editor once its plugged in. If its ARC flashed it will show up as "ARC flashed ECU", if its not it will be "UPREV flashed ECU".
Its much easier to just install an innovate sensor and link it to Uprev software
