Hypertech Not Compatible With 2003????

Hey guys, this is my first thread. I have always spectated on g35drive and finally decided to be part of this great place.
Well along side to bein new, I have got a brand new hypertech max sport. Went threw the whole process and turns out my 2003 G isn't compatible. I called tech support and they really didnt shine any light as to why it isn't compatible. Wanted to ask if anyone had this problem or could tell me to get around it or a bit more detail.

Thanks guys did lots of research before I bought the item and nothing like this ever popped up an tried searching online make there could be a trick to it but end up coming here to ask u experts.

The 2003 ecu is a bit different and pretty much nothing for the newer ecus will be compatible with it.

The good news is that conventional controllers should work better with your ecu.

Thank you dofu good to hear that there is a positive to this ecu. What would you refer as a good conventional controller?

Thats good news, the early 03 sedans use a completely different ECU than the rest. I recommend returning it for a refund and going with Uprev to tune it... its a million times better.

www.uprev.com for details, PM me if you have any questions

Ya I wish I could return it. I won it on eBay brand new. Explained the situation to the seller and he could accept my return so I guess I'm stuck with the hypertech unless I sell it. I was surprised to find out it was not compatible. Ya uprev should have been the way to go I just liked the idea of being able to reflash back to stock

You can reflash back to stock very easily with uprev... If you can't use it post it up for sale again

Thanks u seymor4. I'm deff going to look into uprev. I thought it had to be dynoed and programmed by a shop. Have you personally used uprev?
I poste it up on eBay and Craig's. I wanted to try here as well but I have to have a certain amount of days with g35driver in order to post in the marketplace

Nope, you can reflash it yourself with one of their cables via the OBD2 port, since you have an 03 you should at least do a pull on the dyno to check the AFR's, (only 04 and newer can datalog the A/F ratio) but it'll still be a million times better than a hypertech.

I'm goin to invest a big more time into researchin uprev. I did notice it before but didnt know it was as simple as you stated and neither the reflash to stock. Ya I will sell my hypertech sice it's going to sit collecting dust, will have to wait before positng it here.

Would uprev be a programmer or I would have to make maps, if u know by any chance.

All Uprev tunes are custom, but there's two versions. One lets you tune it yourself the other you just upload tunes that a professional tuner made. You can also record datalogs so they can see how its running and dial it in, or get on a dyno and check it out

I had my 2003 G35 coupe on a Hypertech tune with no issues. The program worked with my G. I helped with the response and a slight HP gain. Are you sure you had the correct Hypertech programmer?. The PN# is 62005. Just a FYI.
