Odd key lockout issue.

My wife has an early build date 03 G35 Sedan with 55,000 miles on it and we found out the hard way that early build date 03s and later build date 03s have some differences as far as knock sensors maf sensors etc. On all my G35s I’ve had the car will not lock the keys in if the key is in the ignition. Twice now she locked her keys inside even if she had the key in the ignition and would lock itself. We tried using the button on the door to unlock. I tried the procedure to disable the auto lock feature that worked on my Gs and did not work. It will stay unlocked for a minute if the fob is used and lock back up as did my Gs but the difference is on hers it will lock even if the key is in the ignition. Any one run into these issues on an early 03? Car was built for Canada and ended up in the US so it has a few oddities including a block heater. Any input is appreciated

If you unlock the car using the key fob and don't open any door, it might relock itself like my Jaguar. My 07 G35 doesn't do that. But, don't be alarmed by that Nissan feature, my 07 G35 also can lock itself with the key fob inside. Very stupid stuff because my Ford Explorer and Jaguar will not do that.. Something to do with the infamous Nissan NATS or as i call it NUTS! So i suggest making a black cut key (valet) and hide it somewhere outside the car in a magnetic box..
