Not to be the **** type, but have you checked to make sure that none of the lights/buttons are being forced/turned on etc. It's either that or a short. I'd check all of the cables under the hood and ask someone with more electrical expertise.
Good luck!
Good luck!
no lights are staying on but here is something wierd or normal??? when i shut the door the interior fades after about 30 seconds or whatever,,,, but the security light blinks WITHOUT me setting the alarm,,,????? is that normal, i called the dealer they were nice about it and said bring it in,, that should be under warranty correct???
the blinking light is normal. It's something else...Do you have any buddy's that are car knowledgeable?? Use them before the dealership....plus you learn more for the next time something weird happens.
no just cause its under warranty and the dealer offered me a 2005 g35 to drive while its in gettin looked at is why i thought dealer,,,THAT IS COVERED CORRECT ??? THEY ARE NOT GONNA CHARGE ME 100 an hour to FIND A SHORT ARE THEY?????
If the car is still in warranty and it is not from something you did (like add a new device or rip out wires while you're checking things) I think it should be covered. Ask them beforehand, though, just to be sure.

The first thing I would do is find a freind with a digital multi-meter. Get the car running and put the leads of the meter on the battery. It should read anywhere between 13.7 and 14.4 volts. If it doesn't, the alternator is probrably bad. If it does test bad, the old battery you replaced could have caused the problem. If it had a shorted cell in it, it may have damaged the charging section of the alternator. If the alternator is fine, then you need to check for current draw. You need a good meter to do that. Let me know if I can help further.

Car batteries are lead acid based batteries. These kinds of batteries do not do well when they are deeply discharged. Perhaps the 1st battery was a victim to a deeply discharged state.
Like most any battery, it loses its charge over time. Combine that with the fact that most cars maintain a parasitic load even when turned off [clock, alarm, etc.], and a battery will drain down over time.
So even though you bought a new battery, it too might have been low on charge [perhaps it was sitting on the store's shelf for a long while]. If you did not drive around enough after installing your new battery [or you did not hook it up to a charger], then the battery might have died when you took off to for LV for the weekend. Just a thought...
The clicking sound may just be the starter solenoid engaging.
