Battery Disconnect

When resetting the computers to regain mod performance and tranny reset....Is there a fuse that can be popped out that cuts power to the computers involved? Also could a inboard switch work for cutting battery connection?

Can't believe my car outsmarts me and I have to fung with it like this to make the mods work..

Re: Battery Disconnect

It takes me no more than 5 minutes to take off the battery cover and disconnect the negative battery terminal. For me, that has been no great inconvenience. This is about as easy as anything I've done with the car. Ken

Re: Battery Disconnect

What you need is a main battery disconnect, like you'd find on big rigs. Shouldn't be too hard or expensive to wire in.

Re: Battery Disconnect

Basically it resets the computer from the driving patterns it learned/stored since the last disconnect. Affects the throttle response and transmission shifts patterns.
Depending on the driver it does make a seat of the pants impression. Try it you may like it. Disconnect for at least 3-12 hours.

Re: Battery Disconnect

Hi,

What about the 6mt? Does it effect the engine in the same manner?

Re: Battery Disconnect

It's thought that it may have a positive effect on throttle response and other things on 6M/T's also. We're waiting on some feedback to confirm this. Give it a try and post with your results..........

Re: Battery Disconnect

Disconnect the Negative terminal not the Positive, less sparks when reconnecting and generally safer. Keep us posted.

Re: Battery Disconnect

Has anyone heard of a button to disable the starter? Sorta like a starter kill switch.. but instead of having to type in a code.. just flip a switch?

The reason I ask is beucase my G was displayed at Hot Import nights this past weekend at the Long Beach Convention center and they requrid the battery to be disconnected (or a starter kill switch) to basiclly prevent your car from being started while there are people in the showroom..

My plan is to intstall a starter kill switch in the glove compartment so I can disblae the starter, however keep my key in the car so I can power my LEDs, system, and soon to come neon lights :/
