Outrunning a IS300

Re: Outrunning a IS300
That's it. I'm moving to Utah. I think there is a time for driving to those limits and it aint in Philly. In the desert you can see the cars before they even are in your county and if someone pulls out ...just drive into the desert offroad (maybe). The porsche cayenne may be the Utah Dream.
Someone please talk me out of getting another ZX-11 or CBR beofore I move - risk are much harder to eliminate at 200 on public highways -anywhere - and they just make the G seem slower when you go back to her.
So how do you avoid cops if you are in a numbered freakin car. Any specifics on dates for this SF-MIAMI crowd. These are the guys with the 1000hp supras eh?

Re: Outrunning a IS300
And I must say these cars feel VERY safe.
Quiztion:
1) You are doing 140 and a cop sees you:
BRAKE VERY HARD RUIN BRAKES GET CAUGHT Or
see what the cop does and find an exit ramp as hes automatically 90 secs behind unless you passed him.
2) Doing 150 again and this time a lawn chair falls off a bridge in your path and you wont miss it unless you make a semi shifty lane change? DO YOU HIT OR NOT KNOWING IT WILL FUNG UP YOUR CAR BAD (one of the good wood ones!)
This in no way condones finding oneself in either scenario. Just some food for thought on quick decision making that involves G sacrifice.

Re: Outrunning a IS300
I have found myself in the same position many a late night. 3 AM and 188 MPH in an AMG 500 SEC and the Vette with me just couldn't take the punishment. My 911 at 157MPH with new motor and the Stang starts to billow smoke(busted cooling hose) this is to name a few. I have done this on 680/280. Yes,it is bad but when you are alone out there....Besides, I have training many do not. So keep it safe and sane. Don't be doing this when folks are out and about.
P.S. I like knowing what they will do too![Wink](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Re: Outrunning a IS300
On this very subject we (the driver's) have to be the ones to exercise restraint. Because the majority of the auto manufacturers "increase" the horsepower of their cars each new model year. So now that you have 300+hp econoboxes, and 260-280hp is nothing special, and even Uncle Olaf has 300hp in his Volvo. What are the consumers to do in this great land of 55mph? I tell you there may be a new market for building speedways. Or how about build restricted highways where you have to obey strict driving rules, but you can run at whatever speed you like - maybe four lanes - with the far left being unrestricted and safely separated from the slower lanes by barriers (etc.) You would also have to be certified to drive on this highway - with special certification by a high performance driving school. Your equipment would have to be inspected prior to traveling on this highway. You would also be screened for alcohol or drug intoxication. And lastly of course you would have to sign a disclaimer, signing away your claim for any harm to yourself or vehicle while traveling on said highway. Charge more than the typical turnpike and you might have some public interest.
This is my dream of course ;-)

Re: Outrunning a IS300
Just to calm everyones nerves on this issue, we where the only 2 cars on the road. From 70 to 155 I never saw another car besides the IS300. I would never race someone if there was a chance I could kill someone, besides the person I was racing. It doesn't make it okay but its still fun to do it!

Re: Outrunning a IS300
I like the idea but here in Cali they waste our tax dollars. On things like public transit whlie ridership is 5% of capacity. They add light rail but don't plan to scuddle any bus lines-gee...smart city/county/state planning right(helps....Cisco... though). These are the people we have in power. They wasted our surplus and now its higher taxes and no money for things like roadway maintence or completeing all projected roadway projects, that we were already taxed for. What you want could be done but in Cali but its not going to happen-no money left and stupid politics. Here in Cali we(tax payers) take care the important people i.e.: those who don't pay taxes at all but demand all kinds of services that are some how owed to them? Money or enough of it is rarely spent where it is need. Might be the same in every state. I still want to dream with you.

I know that its wrong but if too people decide to race there cars and not endanger anyone else who cares... people are going to do what they want to do, u cant say "u should have there liscense suspeneded"... If your going to risk ur life then ur going to risk ur life its no difference if ur going 152 miles an hour or driving on your way to work from my knowledge more people die WHILE DOING ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING... then if they are doing something wrong... to the cat who beet the is300 i give u props.. and i sincerly doubt a cop would do anything if u passed him... wat coould he do
