Question

I ask to see if anyone has had experiance with this. Just looking at the tires on there now, I appears that I could get at least another inch to inch & a half of width on the factory rims. Right now the rims protrude past the sidewalls. I have niked one of them already

If it helps you any, I have done considerable research and will be upgrading my wheels to 18x8 (or 18x8.5) and plan to go with 235/45-18 (or 245/45-18). The 235's will give me .06% error the 245's will give me 1.4% error.

My preference is the 235's but only a select few tire manufacturers make this size, same goes for the rim sizes.

Thanks Guys for your input. I would be ordering 235/50/17 from tirerack.com pretty soon. I havent decided which brand to get yet. But i am down to two Michellin & Pirelli.

Thanks

The Misch Pilots look awesome! A really great looking tread design. I would have bought them if NTB had them in stock when I needed to replace my front 2 Kuhmo's. NTB had the Pirelli P Zeros in stock, so I bought two of those. The Pirellis are non-directional tires and ride quiet. All the directional tires I have had over the past several years handle great, but are somewhat noisey. I really like the quiet ride of the Pirelli.

I'm sure they ride GREAT and sound good when new. It's when they are worn a bit that the directional tires start making noise. I am pretty sure the Pilots were about the same price as the P zeros as well.

Toyo has recently released their newest design -- Toyo Proxes T1-R
Good reviews so far.

Take a look at the attached picture. There are options in 225 and 245 that will keep the speedo within 2% of stock.

Thumbs up Thanks!

Many thanks, toddco13! This is the kind of info I was looking for. Now I think I need to burn a little of the stock tires
