30K service/?

Anyone done it in the bay area, CA.

I got mail about it that it is coming up next month and I should schedule and apt. with them.
Anyone knows which dealer should I use from price and service point of view.
What about using a Nissan dealer?

Anyone knows how much it cost and what it covers?

I have already done the in-cabin and air filter myself about 6 months ago.

THANKS

Is it worth going to the dealership for the 30K service or is it a rip off? If so, any recommendations of what should be done?

I'm at 29,000 with my 03 Emerald Mist and I've done some of the work I needed myself but will go to the dealer for the radiator flush and tranny service. What I've done so far hasn't cost much with the in-cabin filter, air filter, oil and filter change and new belts. It saves a little but I don't see needing much but 30, 60 and 90 are the major ones.

Do your homework... (I suppose your question here would constitute part of it). What did you pay for the 15K service? I bet it was much less than the quote you'll get for 30K. You should be able to get a list from the service dept. of what's included in the "recommended dealer service", then compare it with what is required by your service manual....

That's what I did a month ago and found that since I already changed out my in-cabin filter (just like you have), the only difference between the 15K and 30K service was a tranny-flush (and then only recommended if your car has been driven under more straining conditions).

I paid less than $200 for my 15K service, and the dealer quoted me over $600 for a 30K service , which included everything I got in the 15K service, the tranny flush ($100 stand alone service), a coolant flush (which according to the manual does not need to be touched until 60K), and a bunch of other "fluff" (minus the in-cabin filter, otherwise it would have been over $700).... what the hell is that? I told the service rep: "this is not BMW, man... what are you thinking?" I've already had my ride on that money-down-the-drain train

So I asked them to do ANOTHER 15K service ($200), and added a tranny flush since I tend to drive mine pretty hard and figured the extra $100 was well worth it. That's it.... done.

Good luck!

Maintenance schedule (online at least at infinitihelp) suggests coolant replace at 30k.

I find the service recommendations rather crazy. I have only owned the G for 5500 miles but in the past with my acura I would only do those things that I wanted. So maybe a 15k check up was 125 not 200 bucks. At 30K I recall they wanted to check my plugs I said why they are good to about 106K. They said well we do not replace them if they are ok. I said well if the car is running fine why mess with it...!

I would just check the coolant and make sure it is full and provides adaquate protection. They last time I waited 3 years/60K to replace that. If they want to replace brake fluid and all I would tell them to not bother. There seems to be so many things messed when when there is not need to.

I'm in the Sacramento area, and have used Sacramento Infiniti in Roseville exclusively. Have been treated very well besides the horrendous quote they gave me for the 30K service.

Call Z Car Garage. They have the check list the dealer uses, only thing Rob doesn't do is the tranny.

Per owner's manual for 2003 G35, regarding Engine coolant: "After 60,000 miles (96,000 km) or 48 months, replace every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 24 months". (same quote for both Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 maintenance)
