Talking Coupe Midpipe=Bad Gas Mileage!?

Guys, i have had the midpipe on for like a week and a half now and i love the sound in the 2K RPMs but its even sweeter in the 4K~RPMs. There is a way nicer sound in the mid-upper RPMs. Anyways, my already crappy gas mileage has gotten even worse with the new midpipe on, than before I had it on. So what I'm trying to say is that: does the midpipe cause worse gas mileage contrary to my beliefs? I thought that maybe since it is less restrictive, I would actually maybe have even a tiny bit better gas mileage than w/o the middy. Maybe I am just driving at higher RPMs do to my new excitement with this and as a result, I have worse gas mileage. Please, anyone, your thoughts?

Your crappy gas mileage is probably due to your right foot which has gotten heavier since you installed your midpipe.

This is a common problem usually associated with aftermarket intakes and exhaust systems. The ear enjoys the new sounds which causes the brain to tell the foot to press harder on the accelerator.
