i am the biggest idiot

Hi im 15 and my name is john and today i was washing the car and like an idiot i used the rough side of the sponge on the whole car and the sponge was old so it was really rough and i scratched up the whole hood and some on the trunk it is not deep scratches or anything jsut the kind of scratch that you see when the car is under a broght light and you can see big swirls on the whole hood and it makes it really ugly is there any kind of product i can use to take off the scratches at first i thought about one of those scratch removers but i thought maybe those are for small spots anyways if one of you can tell me what to use to take the scratches off i would really appreciate it thank you

i'll be the first to say it...but dayam...15 and you already a g35, and not even legal for a license yet! man.....hehe anyways...
have you tried waxing it out? Sometimes a good ol' fashioned wax'ing can diminish those really light scratches.....i had a few small scratches I got when i was dangling my keys from my hand as I was opening the door, and the keys scratched the side, when I washed my car and waxed it good...it look good as new! dunno how deep yours is tho

Well John maybe you should use some polishing compound or a product by meguires as they have a system of 3 different products that work together to not only clean and shine the car but also to polish and remove swirls so maybe this will work for you after you get out of English class from your lessons on spelling and shortening sentecnces hope this helps.(LOL)
Really , just busting you a little, try the meguires products. Also , a body ship could do a wet sand if the swirls/scratches are that bad. Good luck.

AHHHHH. OK, go to target, but a meguirs clay bar kit, a bottle of scratch-X, Meguir NXT Tech wax.

wash your car, clay bar the whole thing, use the scratch-X on it, then go to town with the NXT on the whole car. Scratch-X will take out the swirls. The NXT is the bomb.

Use a digital camera take before and after pix and then post them up.

Thumbs up

The comments about you grammar and syntax notwithstanding, I applaud you for:

1. Owning up to your mistake - virtually unheard of nowadays.
2. Seeking help for a solution.
3. Having the wherewithal to find this site and ask for guidance.

Your behavior is noble and belies your age and generational postion. Spend some time to improve your use of the English language, and you are good to go.

Hmmm, I alway's thought the biggest idiot was anyone that tries to pass me on the right. Sorry to hear about your car's finish, hope you have success with fixing it.

John,

Try Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. I have been using this product for over 10 years and it's amazing on scratches and swirls. Also, invest in a good wash mit. You should never wash your (parent's) car with a kitchen sponge.

Looks like you need to go to english class and learn how to spell too. "Sentecnces--translated---sentences? And what is a "body ship"?
And your first paragraph should be shorter as well.

As far as the scratches--on a 1982 pontiac sunbird--no problem. On the G, no excuse for what you used to wash that. However, you never really specified whether or not it was a G that you washed. Was it?
