Hey peeps,

I was wondering if anyone has tried swapping '04 taillights onto an '05? I've read that the '05 lights are a direct swap into '04's, but I don't think anyone has tried the reverse.

I really like the previous lights better than the new coupe-ish lights and I'm thinking about swapping.

 

You should be able to easily find somebody who would sell you their '04 lights that they took off and replaced with '05 lights.

 

I only have the 03/04 reverse light and I am willing to sell it for around $37-40.

 

Heh. Actually, I'd be looking to keep my '05 reverse lights and just add some '04 brake lights. I think the "LED Array" look is much cooler than the "Circle" style of the '05's.

 

Just goes to show you...

I like it that we have varied views of what makes this car look good.

Yeah, to each their own.

I think the biggest thing for me about the '04 style brake lights is that they have a very distinctive, classy look. The '05 round lights just look like every other ricemobile out there. Heh.

 

What about swapping 05 lights into an 03.5. I think the tail lights on my car as are about the ugliest on the road. I like the performance but I hate the tail lights from hell

Omg and i sold my 04 tail lights for $100 Dollars and paid for the 05 $275

yep, there are folks like myself that likes the block of l.e.ds in your face tailights......but hey, only my opiinion..........

I'm with you, I like the older model tail lights as well. If you haven't already, try posting in the Northern California and NorCal G forums. I'm sure you can find someone local to swap with. Also, check out our group here:

No thanks, man. I think I'd rather just buy a used set of '04s and keep my stockers. I'm funny like that.

 

I personally like the 04 lights. Before, I use to think the 05 tail lights and reverse lighits looked better until I saw the service technician at the dealership back my car up to me... then I was like... 04 lights look better. (It did help that it was washed.)
