So we raced from a dead stop and I took a 1/2 car lead to 50, and we were even from 50-75...then he smoked my *** hardcore style to probably 105 or something like that. I thought my G (which is an 04' 5AT by the way) would insanely burn him off the line, but he kept up and was only behind by about 1/2 a car from the start until he blew by. I didnt use the manual mode, I just went auto. My friend is a good stick driver.
Do you guys think that if we race from like 20mph, I will win or what? (haha-I only have a Z-tube and coupe midpipe, so my car sounds amazing....but its stock-haha! So what do u guys think?

Thats it. The ball is in your court. What a joke on the replys
huh honda is not the only car that uses VTEC... The engines have proven to be weak performers down low giving up a lot of torque to other makers. The 2000 is great at the high end, but that's it.

Shifting an S2000 at redline is also normal procedure when you need to really get going. Its engine revs so quickly and freely you get to the redline before you know it. It's not uncommon to bounce off the rev limiter a few times when you're new to driving the S2000.

A well driven 6spd G35 coupe/Sedan can trap at 101mph. How many stock or even lightly modded s2000 trap at 101+? Outrun??? Maybe your auto but not a 6spd.
I have raced a S2K with Intake headers and exhaust from a roll in 2nd gear. We went up to 100+ and we were dead even. I began to pull very little (like inching my way) ahead. But our cars should have no problem with S2Ks if we are modded. Stock different story. From a dig it burn the **** out of me.
Actually the first carmaker that ever experimented with VTEC was Oldsmobile if memory serves me right. They never perfected it so they shelved that idea in the late 70's. Honda got a hold of it and started testing the technology. After extensive testing they finally had something going. Do you guys remember the Honda CVCC car that they had in the early 80's? That car started everything until it evolved in 92 on the Integra GS. And that they say is history. I still think that Honda makes the best VTEC technology out there. The car starts pulling hard @ 3500 rpm up to read redline. If you think about it the S2K is a 4 going head to head with a V6. And a lot of peeps here agree that a well driven G can beat an S2K. It should be the other way around.

Similar drivers (He knows how to drive his car properly).
everytime we race he is on or over 6000 rpm. before that there is no chance.
we never race from dead stop cause you have to abuse the s2000 to get a good launch.

And by the way, I don't own an auto (read my signature). My 6MT pulls pretty hard but my S2000 pulled harder. And for someone to say that an S2000 doesn't pull very hard at higher RPMs doesn't know what they're talking about. They don't pull well at lower RPMs (when the F20C or F22C is "off the cam") but live for high RPMs. They are not easy cars to drive and it takes some experience to extract all of the performance they have to offer.
Had a rsx-s before with a k-pro (programable ECU) vtec kicked at 4100rpm and went all the way to 8800rpm. So Honda's are no joke. I hit 13.8 at 102mph with intake, azenis tires, dc race headers, some gutting and my ecu. S2k's are a different story. There engines are maxed out;meaning there is not much you can do with them to give significant gains, unless Forced Induction. Intake and exhaust on that car will not give massive gains, maybe like 5whp. Stock S2k should hang with a 6mt coupe til about 4th, then i think the coupe should pull? But 350z will smoke it. Stock for Stock. I dont know if modding the G's will help alot, because I am new to the forums so I dont no that much yet. All I know is the G is classiy and quik, for a sedan.
Anyway I downloaded a video of a stock 04 G coupe mt vs a 04 s2k with intake , exhaust. Lets just say the G couldnt launch or dirve. Ill post the video.

I have always liked the S2k's, but I love Hondas, so maybe I'm biased. I'd have one already if I could fit in the damn thing
But I'm done with inline motors, they just aren't that fun.
All you guys worried about getting smoked, just buy a Sti already. Buy a downpipe, and reflash the ECU, and you'll see everything in your rearview. Of course you'll look like something that came out of the F &F but Hey!
