Dealer Installed Aero?? Please respond.

Hello,

I am in the process of trading in my coupe for the sedan. I was curious if you feel there is a difference between factory installed aero package and dealer installed.

If is is dealer installed what do they do with the 3rd brake light in the rear window? Do they just disconnect it? Cover it up? or remove it all together?

I have also heard there is another option for a rear spoiler that is smaller the "aero package" spoiler. Also made by infiniti and available at the dealership. Has anyone heard of this or by chace have a pic?

I bought a G that was already en route to the dealer, it had everything I wanted but the aero package—the underbody diffusers and the rear spoiler. We added it to the car and it was listed on the dealer’s “owe” list.

The dealer installed both about a week after I got my car, I’m perfectly happy with the job they did, plus, they disconnected the shelf light w/o me having to ask. I can’t say for sure if there’s a difference between the dealer installed and the factory installed package, but I don’t think there’s supposed to be.

At the time when I made my purchase (Jan 03), I could have gotten just the rear spoiler. To my knowledge it was the same spoiler whether you got the underbody diffusers or not.

I believe the "factory" installed aero kit is actually installed at the port not the factory.

I don't think it's a big problem. As long as u make sure everything is cool afterward.

When the Aero Kit is factory installed, the interior third brake light is deleted. The trip piece for the "subwoofer" is solid all the way to the rear window.

Attached is a picture that may help.

As I worked for an Infiniti dealer I decided to do mine myself (done right and not sped through). The third b/light is disco'd because it's too much amp. for the line. Check it out ...https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/41404-aero-pkg-dealer-installed-underbody-aero-side-fairings-rear-spoiler.html
