Roof water leak (QUICK HELP PLEASE)

Car is in the dealership today for a oil change and to look at this leak.

The leak started happening in the last two rain storms. It leaks on the passenger side right where the roof line meets the plastic side panel that runs down the right edge of the windshield. Water drips right from that lip. It's to far away to be from the moonroof and it's not the right door and it seems to be 2-3 inches away from the top corner of the the winshield.

Of course dealer says they sprayed it all over and nothing.
I told them look again.

When it leaks it drips right on the right passenger seat.
The last rain storm it leaked about 1 ounceof water.

Anyone have any ideas ?

thx,
RJP

You could have a plugged or disconnected drain hose from the moonroof.

Open the roof & look for a drain hole along the channel,
I haven't looked myself but they're usually at the front corner & a drain hose runs down the pillar to an opening in the chassis.

I believe there is a TSB on this. Check this website for it

Thanks for the quick reply.
According to the TSB, it is for the rear portion near the head rest.

When I get there tonight I'll open the moonroof see if anything is blocked.

Leaks in the roof (cars and houses) often come some distance from the actual problem. Water has a way of working around and being mysterious. Blocked sun roof drains are a common cause of these problems. Now I'll have to look at mine to see where they are and how they are doing.

Let us know what happens.

I had a loaner car and I left the moonroof open during the rain (not on purpose, it was sunny when I parked). The car started dripping from the same place you mentioned, on the drivers side though. It is most likely a leak from the moonroof.
