I do a lot of parallel parking in my town, I find that the rear deck blocks my view when backing up. Has any one out there installed an after market back up sensor? I passed an '04 G35 sedan the other day that had 2 black round sensors on the rear bumper, so I'm assuming it is possible, but I would want to have sensors that match my paint job.
I have never driven a car with a back up sensor, are they helpful for squeezing in to those tight spots?

Well I don't have back up sensors on my G, but on the BMW it has a back up sensor in the front and back. Let me tell you they work really well.Originally Posted by XcarGO

If you do get any for the G I would find out how much EACH sensor covers, in order to know how to space them out on your rear bumper. I would also get one that gives you a display of how close you are to something, like a digital display. The BMW 745 has it on the screen, would be cool if you can do that to the G. Intergrate it with the NAVI screen. Also about the color, I think, not sure, they make it in silver, definately in black.

Something like these? Has any one out there installed an after market back up sensor?
You should be able to paint them to match your vehicles color. I was actually thinking about doing the same thing - back up sensor that is. Hope this helps.
