Tint Problem with my G

I dont know which tint % to put on my Diamond Graphite G. My friends suggest 21% on the front two windows and 5% on the back three. What do you guys suggest? Will it have too much of a contrast, and should I just get 20% all around or the 21% and 5%. You guys all know what makes a G look good. Any pics are greatly appreciated too...(and yes I did search and found a few posts, but wanted your guys' opinions)

Thanks for your response rrpnow. Will 21% and 5% not flow well together though?

I just got my DG sedan tinted and it looks awesome. I live in Florida so I got as dark as the legal limit on the 4 side windows which is 28%. In my opinion it is the perfect look of classy privacy and heat protection. 5% and tint like that looks to dark and thug. I also got 15% on the back window which is plenty dark and still see at night.

Overall I reccomend that you get the same % on all 4 side windows so it flows and get darker on the back window. That is the way to go.

I went with 30% all around. I don't like my tint to dark as its hard to discern police car headlights out the back at night. Cops in general hate black tint. it's illegal in most states so don't give them a reason to give you a fix it ticket that makes you have to remove it.

FWIW...
I have had darker on other cars & it was a PITA to see at night,
especially backing up.

I have 20% allaround and amazed at how dark it looks sometimes. I am satisfied except when I see NJs finest in the vicinity. I would recommend 20% looks very dark. For those with 15% and less can you see at night during rainy weather? I know I have to double and triple check when backing during reduced visibility conditions.

I would say it depends on the color of your interior. Darker color interiors usually can make a light tint look darker than it is. I'm not really a dark tint person and I prefer something that looks classy and brings out the car. I wouldnt go darker than a 20% and I also prefer to have the same tint all around. To really make your car look sick, go with a 30% or 20% all around and tint the whole windsheild 50%. You can also check out the shades on my website by clicking on my sig.

Thanks guys...I am leaning towards 20% all around, but 15% all around is still an option. Hmmm?? What to do...? lol.

I am in Florida and I got pretty dark all around - 20%. Mine is Obsidian Black and wheat inside so 20 is not that dark overall.

I think 21 and 5 as you asked above is a bad idea. 5 is REALLY dark ... in fact 5 is Limo dark which is really dark (you must have seen limos).

I dont know where you live ? What is the legal limit in your state ? making it too dark may be asking for trouble.

I went with 35% in the front and 20% on the rears. Becareful going with any darker than 20%.......popo may want to ask you a few questions I think 40% is the "legal" limit for the front

Not to mention it may be hard to see at night (if that matters to you...it did to me)
I personally think 20% would look pimp on DG...not to dark, not to light.

Let us know what you end up with and ofcourse....post those pics

15% is pretty damn dark, although i have it on the rear half of my car, it's not too difficult to see at night.

g-pimp: where in the valley are you getting your tint done?

the darker you go on the back, the harder for your radar detector to alert you...

I currently have the darkest allowed for front and the darkest allowed from the back in Florida and it doesnt look uneaven. (15 30 i think?)
